UKESF is running a groundbreaking programme designed to drive and inspire students to enrol into UK Electronics degree courses. The initiative gets boards into the hands of A-level physics students.

IC Resources is the recognised technology recruitment partner to the global tech community. Since our inception in 1999, the health of the industry has been of the upmost importance to us, that's why we're a proud partner of the UKESF (UK Electronics Skills Foundation).

The Music Mixer boards let students experience and understand the nuts and bolts of electronics by building a working product. Crucially, these tasks/activity support the national curriculum.

For every £1,000 raised, UKESF provides two schools with 15 Music Mixer circuit boards and gives teachers comprehensive CPD training, in collaboration with Southampton University. The circuit board is an engaging hands-on classroom learning tool that delivers fundamental electronics education as part of the physics curriculum. Given that the Music Mixer can be re-used from one year to the next, £1,000 will directly affect hundreds of students.

For every successful engineer placement that IC Resources makes at UKESF sponsoring companies, we will donate £50 to the Music Mixer project.

With your help, we can reach £3,000.

The charity

The UKESF encourages young people to study Electronics and pursue careers in the sector. We also connect the most capable Electronics students at top UK universities with leading employers. With your help, we will tackle the skills shortage.

The UKESF provides an ever-growing education programme, inspiring students about Electronics at school and to pursue STEM-focused subjects through to A-level.

We also run an expanding scholarship scheme for Electronics undergraduates, providing industry placements, developing employability skills and encouraging innovation, in addition to giving financial support.

Here are just some of the ways in which your donation could benefit young people and the Electronics sector:

  • £5 purchases a simple Electronics project kit to enable a schoolchild to make a basic Electronics circuit as part of a short introductory ‘taster’ session
  • £50 provides a mentor training session for a volunteer prior to delivering Electronics STEM activities in schools
  • £100 purchases an Arduino-based remotely controlled vehicle Electronics kit to enable a schoolchild to complete a more complex Electronics construction and coding project
  • £250 funds a sixth former to attend a 4-day residential Electronics taster course at one of our partner universities
  • £1,000 pays for two secondary schools/colleges to receive the Music Mixer project kit and a CPD training session for each teacher.
  • £1,200 provides a professionally organised and delivered full-day Electronics-based STEM challenge for 36 schoolchildren aged 11–14
  • £1,500 funds a bursary and supports professional development for a female undergraduate studying Electronics at one of our partner universities

Our wonderful partners

Our wonderful partners - who support us with cash and services - make it possible for us to pass EVERY PENNY raised from your fundraising efforts and generous donations to our charities, including Gift Aid. Of course, we would be unable to do so without them.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
