Raising funds to replace a stolen strimmer

for The Steel Valley Project

£120.00 + £12.50 Gift Aid = £132.50
Donated to Raising funds to replace a stolen strimmer’s £1200.00 Goal

We are fundraising to purchase a new strimmer to replace the two that were recently stolen from us whilst working on one of our environmental projects in Stocksbridge.

Unfortunately although we are insured, because the strimmers were stolen when we were working on site we cannot claim for them.

We are a small charity and use our strimmers to keep local paths open during the spring and summer when they can become very overgrown. We also carry out work to manage habitats for wildlife with the strimmers and we were using them on a project to create a new wildflower meadow when they were stolen.

The new strimmer would be an electric type, which will be more environmentally friendly than petrol powered versions and will give our staff and volunteers a safer working environment in the future.

Please help us to replace one of the stolen strimmers by donating to this appeal.

We'd also be grateful if you could help spread the word by sharing the link for this page with your friends and family.

Thank you for your support :)

All funds raised will be passed to The Steel Valley Project irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

The charity

The Steel Valley Project has been enhancing Stocksbridge, Bradfield and the Upper Don area since forming in 1988. A registered charity, our organisation works towards the following objectives:

  • Manage habitats for the benefit of wildlife, people, heritage and landscape.
  • Encourage access to open green space/wider countryside.
  • Deliver environmental/education/interpretation to local schools/wider population.
  • Provide support, advice, training & supervision to volunteers, trainees & community groups in countryside management/ conservations skills by working on real local environmental projects.

We have a long history of delivering environmental, community and countryside projects with a range of partners, consistently working to improve the environment in our operational area.

Working with volunteers is a huge part of our organisation and we have a team of dedicated people who help us to deliver our practical and community activities throughout the year.

Registered charity (no. 1095510).

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
