£6045.00 + £1303.75 Gift Aid = £7348.75
Donated to Scholarships’s £10000.00 Goal

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Wonderful page allowing us to take donations so we can provide scholarships to cover the secondary school fees for young children in Kenya.

Scholarships are required because village children often find that, whilst they attend primary school until they are 11 or 12, they are then needed in their families to work and help provide food. Whilst school fees are modest by Western standards, they are often unaffordable for impoverished families. The income for many Kenyan families is just enough for them to survive. This is made worse if a child has lost one or both parents to malaria, AIDS or other serious complaints. If children lose the opportunity to move onto secondary school they miss the chance to better themselves and improve the lot of their families.

What your money provides - it costs from just £325 (or £260 + gift aid) a year to provide a place at school, covering the student’s education and all boarding costs during their four years at secondary school. Donating through is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to RRBF and if you're a UK taxpayer then we are able to reclaim Gift Aid. And there are absolutely no charges. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - you raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

For more information, please contact Neil Kirby - [email protected] or if you're ready to donate then please go ahead.

All funds raised will be passed to The Red Rubber Ball Foundation irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

The charity

The Red Rubber Ball Foundation is a voluntary charity which provides scholarships for children to attend state secondary school in Kenya so they can get a full education.  We also support them beyond school through mentors to develop life skills to give them the best chance in life for them and their family.

In addition, RRBF runs a farming project so primary school children get a decent meal each day + a cycling club to keep kids in the slums of Nairobi off the street and away from bad influences like gangs, crime, drugs, glue, prostitution.

Every penny donated goes directly to these projects as all admin, fundraising and governance costs are covered by our founder.

Registered charity (no. 1140443).

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
