Why we need your help?

The Cancer Vaccines Charitable Trust (CVCT) is committed to curing cancer.

Its current major focus is on a promising and innovative cancer vaccine being developed by the husband and wife team of immunologists, Dr John Maudsley and Dr Sarah Maudsley. We are supporting their clinical trial (called ACIT-1), addressing pancreatic and other types of cancer, taking place at a UK hospital. The aim of the vaccine is to provide a cure for cancer that does not have the unpleasant side-effects of chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery, improving the quality of life for cancer sufferers. John and Sarah have been working on this since 1999, dedicating their lives towards producing a vaccine that is successful and affordable to health services around the world.

The development, manufacture and trial of the Vaccine is not funded by large profit-driven pharmaceutical companies, but by the money raised by our donors and fundraisers.

How you can help?

Additional funding is needed to increase the scope of the trial, making the treatment available to more cancer sufferers and across more cancer types.

All donations and money raised for this campaign will go directly to supporting this work in a cost effective way. If we raise more than our target, the monies will be used to treat additional patients and support the Trial of the Maudsley Vaccine.

Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.

Further information is available at our website:

Thank you for your help and support.

All funds raised will be passed to Cancer Vaccines Charitable Trust (CVCT) irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

The charity

Promoting, researching and developing vaccines that will cure cancer

Cancer Vaccines Charitable Trust (CVCT) is a charity based in Warwickshire, UK seeking to promote and support the use of vaccines in the treatment and cure of cancer.

The UK is a world leader in basic research in cancer but only a very small proportion of new ideas and discoveries make it into patients and only a minority of these treatments make it through to being available to all.

Many doctors and cancer specialists believe vaccine technology could offer great hope and lead to an entirely new form of cancer treatment and cure. Cancer Vaccines are used to treat cancer that is already established, rather than prevent it occurring in someone who does not yet have the disease. Cancer vaccines typically will have fewer side-effects than current chemotherapy, radiotherapy or monoclonal antibody therapy, and therefore vaccines improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

Cancer Vaccines Charitable Trust (CVCT) recognises the important potential of this approach to cancer treatment but also that it is often hampered by poor funding. CVCT is therefore, seeking to secure sufficient initial donations to enable it to work with the larger funding bodies and charities. It will then direct these combined sums towards helping the cancer vaccine projects in CVCT’s portfolio. These projects typically focus on vaccines being developed by small establishments with limited resources which do not have the manpower to dedicate to raising the needed financial support. This is where CVCT is helping.

We give 100% of all monies raised to our supported projects and activities.

Our current Major Project

Our current aim is to raise £25,000, so more cancer sufferers can be treated by the Maudsley Vaccine. Your support will help us to achieve this.

What is the Maudsley Cancer Vaccine?

The Maudsley Cancer Vaccine is being tested in its first clinical trial in the UK NHS with a focus on the treatment of Pancreatic Cancer, Leukemia and other cancers.

The Maudsley Vaccine is unique and at the forefront of immunology. Its development, manufacture and trial is not funded by large profit driven pharmaceutical companies, but by the donations we are able to make through the support of our donors and fundraisers.

How you can help?

Your support will increase the chances of survival for our cancer patients and help more patients to be treated - many of whom will have finished traditional treatments but whom are yet to be cured.

If we raise more than our target, the monies will be used to treat additional patients and support the Trial of the Maudsley Vaccine and other projects.

Full Details of the Trial can be found at:

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
