Woodside Bridge Replacement Appeal

for Lyn Community Development Trust

£1010.00 + £222.50 Gift Aid = £1232.50
Donated to Woodside Bridge Replacement Appeal’s £65000.00 Goal

LCDT is leading an appeal to replace the iconic Woodside Bridge which collapsed in late 2017. Woodside Bridge crossed the beautiful East Lyn River at the entrance to the stunning Watersmeet Valley near Lynmouth in Devon. There has been a bridge there for over 150 years, but as it was not a designated Right of Way, and was not owned by any Statutory Authority, no public designated funds are available to replace it. In collaboration with Exmoor National Park Authority, who are also supporting the fund financially through their "Caremoor for Exmoor" scheme, LCDT are seeking to raise the £65000 needed to replace it. Once replaced, the National Park has agreed to maintain it, so this is a "one-off" appeal. Many tens of thousands of people enjoyed the short walk from Lynmouth past Middleham Memorial Gardens, across Woodside Bridge and on to Watersmeet and if they gave just £1 each, the appeal will be funded. Please add your donation, however small, as it will be welcomed. If you are a taxpayer, please consider Gift Aiding your donation - it makes such a difference. Thank you.

All funds raised will be passed to Lyn Community Development Trust irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
