Phil and Julie Neville to front Wonderful Week
Published by Kieron James in Wonderful
We are delighted to announce today that Phil and Julie Neville are backing our inaugural fundraising event The Wonderful Week, this September.
The former Manchester United and England footballer and his wife are throwing their support behind the philanthropic organisation the only fundraising site which channels 100 per cent of donations to charities.
The charitable couple will be encouraging participants to join our virtual fundraising event taking place from 2nd 10th September, encouraging people to clock up the miles or bake a cake all in the name of their own chosen charity - and with our usual guarantee that all donations will reach fundraisers' intended cause.
The Neville family themselves have pledged to cover a distance of 100 miles through swimming, cycling and running, to raise much needed funds for a wonderful cause, The Good Life Orphanage a charity committed to providing safe and secure homes for orphaned and abandoned children in Kenya.
Speaking on the announcement, Julie Neville, who will be posting progress updates on Twitter from 2nd September, comments; "We are absolutely thrilled to be able to do something wonderful for The Good Life Orphanage by taking part as a family in the inaugural Wonderful Week, keeping us fit and raising some much-needed funds.
As well as raising money for children who need it, we want to make more people aware of the fundraising options available. It is now possible, through Wonderful, to maximise fundraising efforts and ensure that all donations go to the intended cause."
Phil Neville adds; Wed like to encourage others to join us in this fundraising initiative and do something wonderful for a charity close to their own hearts.
Wonderful.org was launched earlier this year as part of a continued crusade by businessman Kieron James to make millions more pounds for charities.
Kieron James, founder of Wonderful.org, who will be taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for The Christie Charity said: In this day and age, the five per cent administration fees charged by fundraising sites like JustGiving, plus payment card processing fees, seem like a high price for charities to pay. We charge nothing at all, make no deductions from Gift Aid and through the generosity of corporate sponsors, we cover all debit and credit card transaction fees.
Were thrilled to partner with Phil and Julie for the Wonderful Week, working towards our shared goal of raising more money for worthy causes like the Good Life Orphanage.
Mary Maguire, founder of the Good Life Orphanage adds; Since founding the Orphanage in 2008, we now have over 50 children in our care, with the number continuing to grow so we are looking forward to receiving 100 per cent of donations made through The Wonderful Week. Every penny really will make a difference to these childrens lives.

Note to Editors
The Christie Charity
The Christie charity raises money for a range of projects and initiatives focusing on 4 main areas, research, care and treatment, education and extra patient services. All of which are above and beyond what the NHS provide enabling us to give our patients the best care and treatment possible.
From providing continuous funding for the Cancer Information Centre and Wig Service, helping patients and their families cope with the effects of treatment, to raising money for new developments such as the recently opened Teenage and Young Adult unit, donations are having a positive impact every single day.
The Good Life Orphanage
The Good Life Orphanage provides a safe and loving environment for orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children just north of Mombasa, Kenya. The children receive three meals daily, access to healthcare when required and a good quality education at its adjoining SBM School. Since opening its gates in 2008, over 100 children have enjoyed "The Good Life.
The Wonderful Organisation is a non-profit organisation funded entirely by philanthropic Corporate Sponsors. It does not charge charities for its service or take money from fundraisers, sponsors or Gift Aid contributions (the HMRC scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers).
No deductions are made to cover operating costs, card processing fees, etc. These costs are met by the Wonderful Organisations Corporate Sponsors.
