Walking Hadrian's Wall

Following a sudden rush of blood to the head I have agreed to walk the length of Hadrian’s Wall in support of Amnesty International. Starting in Newcastle on the 2nd July and ending eighty-four blistering miles later, I will endeavour to tramp my way across England (or is that Scotland?) for charity.Combining my love of all things lengthy, heritagy and wally, this week long expedition (yes, that is the word I am using) will prove the success of walls throughout history. As I always say, together we can make the northern reaches of the Roman Empire great again!
But joking aside ...All of the funds raised will support the important work of Amnesty International. I also want to highlight the ongoing plight of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and her daughter, Gabriella, who have been imprisoned in Iran for over two years. Cardiff Amnesty have been campaigning on Nazanin’s case since June 2016.This issue has become very important to me as I have got to know Nazanin’s family over the last few years. It is wrong that that the British government is not doing more to secure her release, wrong that that she is in prison, and wrong that she cannot choose to walk in freedom.Amnesty International is working hard in to raise awareness of Nazanin's case and many other human rights violations. Your donation will help Amnesty put pressure on politicians and policy makers to protect human rights around the world. Please give generously, thank you.Owen

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
