About Common Wheel

Common Wheel supports people with mental illness by providing meaningful activities. We have three projects. Our bike project supports people in repairing and recycling old bikes into 'good as new' bikes for our clients to ride away and keep. Our music project supports people in singing, playing and composing music. Our visual arts project 'Carnival Club' supports people in designing and producing large scale art pieces to be displayed in various parades in Glasgow. Our projects aim to improve mental wellbeing, reduce isolation, and support people in learning new skills.

Sponsored Music Improvisation Marathon

Individuals and groups of musicians will be making brand new music in Glasgow University Concert Hall on Saturday 11th May 2019, from 10am to 8pm. We will be bringing together amateur and professional musicians, some who have worked together before and others who have never met, to take part in an epic 10 hour continuous improvised music marathon for a very good cause. Please sponsor and support the musicians. Funds raised will help Common Wheel to offer meaningful activities for people with mental illness and dementia in Glasgow.

Our wonderful partners

Our wonderful partners - who support us with cash and services - make it possible for us to pass EVERY PENNY raised from your fundraising efforts and generous donations to our charities, including Gift Aid. Of course, we would be unable to do so without them.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
