Holywell Leisure Centre – Canolfan Hamdden Treffynnon (HLC-CHT) began its journey as a charity back in 2017 after five decades of leadership by Flintshire County Council.
Keeping HLC-CHT's doors open to the community has been the centre's number one priority for the past two years. But now, it's time for change. Making vital improvements to our facilities will benefit everyone. Some areas of our much loved centre have been untouched for years, potentially 'original features' used by generation after generation.
Now, we are looking at different ways to secure our future. Aside from applying for financial assistance for big projects like replacing the boilers, we need help from individuals who are equally passionate about Holywell Leisure Centre.
A team of 10 volunteer Trustees make the big decisions but having the funds to turn customer wishes into reality is difficult.
Fundraising will hopefully give us the support needed to revamp and improve our pool side showers and changing facilities which will cost around £20,000 - of which we have £4,000 already (raised through Tesco's Blue Token scheme).
People who are passionate about our cause can also set up their own fundraising page, which of course we fully support - maybe challenge yourself to a marathon or something simple like a cake bake? And if you're lucky enough to work for a company that match funds your efforts, then that's even better!
Literally every penny counts now we are a charity, and we are determined to make HLC-CHT bigger and better with your help - all donations welcome via this page, simply hit the green 'DONATE NOW' button.

The Co-operative Bank are proud to be the main sponsorship partner of the Wonderful Organisation supporting charities to make a difference by ensuring 100% of donations go directly to doing good. Learn more about the Bank’s values and ethics.
We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
