Sarah & Mel's 10km Swim for Kit
We are taking part in the Hurly Burly - a 10km swim in the chilly waters of Snowdonia - to raise money for a cause very close to our hearts.
The Kit Tarka Foundation was established after Sarah's son Kit died at just 13 days old and works to prevent newborn baby deaths through research and education. Kit was born healthy but died from neonatal herpes (in his case the cold sore virus) after contracting it in hospital. For more details and to read Kit's story please visit kittarkafoundation.org. We will be swimming for Kit just 2 weeks after the date we should be celebrating his 2nd birthday.
10km is the equivalent of 400 lengths of a standard swimming pool so no mean feat! We are looking forward to the challenge but both of us are severely lacking in training so any motivation you can provide via sponsorship will be much appreciated.
Sarah & Mel xx
