Fundraising to save Laurel and Luna's sight
Laurel (black) is a one year old Shar Pei x Staffy and Luna is a five year old Shar Pei.Both girls arrived at Pennine Pen in the last few days, from a London Pound, in the hope of a second chance
of life and finding a forever home.On arrival, it
was evident that they both had watery eyes and were squinting.
Following a visit to the vets, it was confirmed that both dogs are suffering with a common condition called 'entropian'.
is a genetic condition, whereby the eyelid turns inwards and if left untreated, can
cause blindness.Laurel has an active ulcer on her left eye and scarring on both and Luna has scarring to both of her eyes.
Surgery is the only option to prevent blindness and stop further pain. The cost of surgery for both dogs is almost £800 and they also need to be spayed. This is a significant sum for the Rescue to find.
have no option but to go ahead with surgery to enable us to find them both a home and prevent further suffering and would be grateful for any
contribution you are kindly
able to make.
