About Rotary Club of Northwich Benevolent Fund

Rotarians - ordinary people doing extraordinary things

Northwich Rotary is packed with them. This vibrant lunchtime group was founded in 1922 and currently has 31 volunteers all doing extraordinary things. In addition to social activities we come together to organise local community events such as the Northwich River Festival, Northwich Beer & Drinks Festival, the Annual Bonfire & Firework Display and the Northwich Charity Swimathon. We develop both local and international projects to help communities at home and abroad, often by using the network of other Rotary Clubs throughout the world.

This can be great fun and incredibly satisfying.

If you have ever wanted to make a difference in your community or help those in need abroad then Northwich Rotary is the place for you! Come along and take a look at what we do and the incredible network of friends and acquanitances that we gain on the way.

Northwich River Festival Dragon Boat Challenge

We are entering a team into The MIGHTY River Weaver Dragon Boat Challenge as part of Northwich River Festival 2019.
50% of the amount we sponsor will go to The Festival's nominated charity: Cheshire Without Abuse - which supports families affected by domestic abuse - as well as other Rotary good causes.******The remaining 50% will go to our own nominated cause: Promising Future.
We want to bring St Helen’s alive for the whole community as part of our mission
Serving Christ, Serving the Community
and have made a lot of progress on our Vision for St Helens in the 21st Century.
St Helen’s church is over 650 years old, the oldest and most beautiful building in Northwich. We are already achieving increased use, enabling people to enjoy St Helens through an increasing range of activities from Saturday opening, film nights, mums and toddlers’ sessions, inclusive worship, learning, sharing and participation.
We are going to provide a more welcoming entrance and new catering, meeting, toilet and storage facilities including a new extension on the north side of the church. We will carefully re-landscape the churchyard to make it the most beautiful place in Northwich, providing space for outdoor gathering, enjoyment, contemplation, easy access and car parking. We will repair the medieval stonework and carefully clean our beautiful stained glass windows.
St Helen’s shows the life and story of the community over hundreds of years. It exists to make life better for all, to offer life in all its fullness.
This project will cost a seven-figure sum and take several years to achieve, but we are on the way! Come and share – it’s for you!*****Please support our efforts - and remember to come and cheers us on at Northwich River Festival 2019 - 13th and 14th July 2019

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
