Katy's Uganda 10K Give2Grow fundraiser for Self Help Africa
I’ve signed up for the 10km course of the Uganda Marathon in support of Self Help Africa’s Give2Grow appeal.
We'll be running in 27°C heat on 1st June with the SHA team in Masaka.
From 15th Feb to 15th May, all public donations (from the UK) to Give2Grow will be DOUBLED by the UK government, so if you can kindly sponsor me by 15th May your money will go twice as far!
The run is 10km on hilly terrain, under the African sun - and I'm doing it in support of subsistence farmers in Teso, Uganda - still struggling to recover from the reign of the Lord’s Resistance Army, which devastated the region a decade ago.
During the week, we will also be visiting community groups Self Help Africa are working with in some of the most remote parts of Uganda, to see first-hand the real and lasting impact of their work. I will of course be reporting back for My Shrewsbury!
Self Help Africa's Give2Grow programme will work with 1,000 families in the Teso community - predominantly women and young people - supporting them to restore their farmland, grow more crops, better feed their families and work their way to self-sufficiency.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little. And it will be doubled by the UK government! Anything helps.
Thank you so much
