About The Include Project

Include.org is making the world more welcoming for people with understanding and speaking difficulties.

Through training, outreach activities and of course, The Include Choir - we give people the inclusive communication skills they need to connect with people who find understanding or speaking difficult, and reduce the isolation and frustration that communication disability brings.

How will you Include someone with a communication need today?

The Sims family does Run Reigate

We are raising funds for include.org the charity that helps people with understanding and speaking difficulties to be included.Singing and signing truly helps people to connect, feel happier and be part of a welcoming and inclusive community. In our experience Run Reigate is an event that also tries to promote those things. This year The Include Choir will be performing at Run Reigate - yay! Look out for us on the main stage! Meanwhile, Gareth will run the 10k, I will run the 5k (or do my best impression of running, since I sprained my ankle a few weeks ago - and the GP said not to run!) and Luke will do the kids race. We would love to raise some £ for Include.orgI have taken the Sims family along to a few choir performances. Ethan is a big fan. He was so engaged and impressed with the choir the first time he saw them that that he emplored us to enter a talent competition - and it looks like we might just do that!Despite being a big fan, sadly Ethan says that he is not running. Sometimes his own SEN and anxieties get in the way of him being part of great things. He has run in previous years and done really well - a natural runner some may say - but that in some ways just adds to the pressure. This is yet another reason to support Include. I know that a high proportion of our choir members have to navigate their own barriers to participation. Include.org helps them to do that - so that they are included.(We will do all we can to support Ethan to participate - but sometimes it is just too much...)

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
