Paul & Gabriella's Springboard Trek

For one night only... actually 7 nights in a tent! We're off on an adventure of discovery to South America. Paul was recently quoted as saying,

I thought it was a gentle stroll through the mountains, gazing at beautiful scenery with the opportunity to cast the odd fly over a tranquil water to sight of a rising fish, and staring at the starry night sky whilst sipping sundowners before retiring to my Bedouin tent and drifting off to sleep to the soothing sounds of the forest in unison with the songs of the local ‘Suriname’!Needless to say this will be a little different from the fly fishing adventures he usually embarks on. This will be a challenge for the both of us, on both a physical and a personal level, but one which we are willing to accept in the name of supporting such a worthwhile charity.
So what's all this about? From 21st March - 1st April 2020, a group of Trekkers will be going out of their comfort zone and travelling all the way to Nicaragua to take part in a gruelling challenge, including 4 treacherous volcano-climbs and a transformative local community project. All funds raised for the Springboard TREK will allow our UK beneficiaries to complete employability programmes, equipping them with skills, confidence and work experience and allowing them to begin successful & rewarding careers in hospitality. Additionally, by helping the Trekkers to achieve their fundraising targets, your donations will help us to renovate a local school in the village of Rota, Nicaragua, installing a much-needed water system and an outdoor shelter area.
Thank you in advance for any support you feel you may be able to give us.
Paul and Gabriella xx

Nicaragua Trek 2020

Hello all, Angela here :)
I am a Graduate at the Landmark Hotel in London and will be representing my company in a charity trek with The Springboard Charity to complete a community outreach project in Nicaragua in March 2020, as part of our Giving Something Back initiative.
A group of 30+ people and myself will be travelling to Rota, Nicaragua to build a shelter for a local school and install a much-needed water supply system, which will make a huge difference in the villagers’ lives. During the trip, we will trek a total of 4 volcanoes and camp for 6 nights, as we follow the route that locals use to get to their farms on a daily basis. It will be a “back to the basics” trip – no wifi, no toilets, and no showers. We will be bringing school supplies and spending 3 days working on the project
The Landmark London will be covering the costs of the trip but I have a fundraising target of
£3500, which will benefit the local villagers and the Springboard Charity’s cause – supporting disadvantaged and underprivileged people in the UK into sustainable employment within the hospitality and tourism industry.
For those of you who know me – you would agree that this is a challenge that is completely out of my comfort zone. However, I believe this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will truly be a rewarding experience, but my efforts can go further with your support.
Please help me raise funds and donate to change lives in the UK and Nicaragua. Thank you xo

Springboard Trek 2020 Mike Brown

Hello everyone.Ok, so I was writing a somewhat sad list of things to do in my 50th year, (yes I know you can’t believe I’m still alive let alone not 60)
I was Bored with a capital B.Google 50 things to do when you’re fifty? If you haven’t made a signature dish, biked the Golden Gate Bridge or done a tandom skydive then shame on you (I haven’t done all those things!)
I have a very fortunate life, go to work, eat and drink in nice places, go on cool holidays have a loving and supportive family,
STOP
IT'S TIME TO DO SOMETHING THAT WILL CHANGE OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES FOR THE BETTER.
This is different, Welcome to Springboard.
An amazing charity in the Foodservice world that raises money to support less fortunate people than you and me in this country and increasingly changes lives across the world on their annual treks.
The Trek happens each year and I desperately wanted to do this in my 50th year so Thank you to the lovely people at Nestle for voting for me to be on the trek,
So, just to give you a couple more reasons to donate?
1) I can’t put flat pack furniture together let alone build a school - completely out of my comfort zone!!
2) I have to climb 4 volcanoes, live in a tent and have no WiFi or hot water for 5/6 days.
So reasons to believe!!
I’ve done the South Downs and the Cotswold way for charity but...this is something else!!
Thank you for reading and thank you for your support xx

Springboard TREK 2020

From 21st March - 1st April 2020, I will be part of a group of Trekkers who
will be going out of their comfort zone and travelling all the way to Nicaragua to take part in a gruelling challenge, including 4 treacherous volcano-climbs and a transformative local community project. We all
have individual fundraising targets which we
must reach in advance of the TREK next spring to be able to take part in the challenge. All funds raised for the Springboard TREK will allow our UK beneficiaries to complete employability programmes, equipping them with skills, confidence and work experience and allowing them to begin successful & rewarding careers in hospitality. Additionally, by achieving the fundraising targets, the donations will help us to renovate a local school in the village of Rota, Nicaragua, installing a much-needed water system and an outdoor shelter area.
All funds raised will be passed to The Springboard Charity irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
