About Worth Unlimited

Young people who grow up feeling that life is hopeful, that dreams can be achieved and that they belong in something bigger than themselves, become change-makers. So, we...

 • Inspire hope in some of the most marginalised, vulnerable young people through great youth work and enterprise opportunities.
 • Help young people to catch a vision of the world as it should be - a world characterised by harmony, community, well-being, wholeness, justice and prosperity.
 • Support young people and adults to harness their passions, gifts, skills and talents to enable hope and transformation in their communities.

Worth Unlimited: a national Christian community dedicated to inspiring hope together.

Waltham Forest

Worth Unlimited for Waltham Forest provides safe spaces for young people to spend time together, take part in positive activities, build relationships with supportive adults and grow in skills and character.

For 11 years, we have been running the Youth Bus, holding weekly sessions in locations across the borough. It is kitted out with three computers with internet access, an x-box and play station, as well as a small kitchen and chill-out area. It's a place where young people are able to access information and support from trained youth workers as well as developing social skills and friendships with their peers.

These sessions are open to all young people and - because we can drive the bus into the heart of a neighbourhood - they're easily accessible to anyone who wants to come. The ability to go right to their doorstep has made it possible for us to meet and work with young people who wouldn’t have engaged in other youth activities.

Going to where the young people are and spending time with them week in, week out, year after year, establishes genuine relationships and bonds of trust. We work with a lot of young people who are dealing with very difficult circumstances, journeying with them through times of change.

These kind of relationships help young people to see their own worth, develop confidence and discover their passions, abilities and identity, all of which are crucial for successfully transitioning into adulthood.

East Birmingham & North Solihull

We work alongside young people in communities across East Birmingham and North Solihull to help them become…

Resilient and strong – people who are able to negotiate the demands of life: Our open access youth work provides young people with safe spaces; safe, caring, down-to-earth adults to talk with and consistent, long-term, reliable access to support. In this context, we use a range of one-to-one and group activities give them opportunities to face and deal with challenges to develop resilience and strength.

Confident and proactive – people who understand and consciously utilise their knowledge, skills and characteristics: Our asset-based approach means that our activities are designed to enable young people to discover their gifts, skills, talents and passions and explore the potential of their unique combination of qualities. Our team members have a diverse range of skills, which they use in creative and experimental ways, role-modelling for young people many different possible ways to live.

Informed and alert contributors to the world – self-aware, critical thinkers, people with a clear sense of identity, purpose and vision for the world: As we are rooted in our local communities, we are able to support young people in developing positive intergenerational relationships, working alongside others in their neighbourhoods to benefit others and exploring their own understanding of “the common good”. As part of our "Together We Can" project, we offer young people involvement in intergenerational social action projects. We also work with young people through social enterprise (Listen Threads clothing brand and Gear Up cycle shop/club).

Worth Unlimited for Doncaster focuses on developing the skills, passions and motivations of local people to mentor young people, in particular those at risk of not flourishing in society. To do this we recruit and train mentors and use them in partner schools.

Through our mentoring programme young people, ranging in age from 5-18, experience transformation in behaviour, self-confidence and self-esteem, which results in impressive outcomes of engagement and achievement.

Our priority is to train and supervise volunteer mentors to support vulnerable young people, particularly those living in poverty or facing exceptional challenges. Most of our referrals come through schools, which identify young people who struggle with low self-esteem, and lack motivation, ambition, hope and self-belief.

Most mentoring is carried out one-to-one but we also deliver small group courses in building self-esteem, anger management and conflict resolution as well as training young people to become peer mentors. We train young people in Years 12 & 13 to mentor younger students in their school. We work with schools to tailor courses to the needs of young people, for example supporting Year 11 students who experience exam stress.

We strongly believe in the importance of a long term mentoring relationship and do not give up easily on any young person who needs ongoing support.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
