Jodie’s story

We are doing a 20 mile walk from Saltburn to Whitby to raise money for the Remembering Rebecca charity.

Remembering Rebecca supports children and families affected by neurological conditions. This charity also works closely with Autism Parents Together (Tees Valley) who organise lots of events and opportunities for families with autism to meet other like minded people and create lots of happy memories.

Your donation will help this charity to continue providing amazing support to children and families.

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

Remembering Rebecca

Remembering Rebecca is a charity that was set up in memory of Rebecca Sands who died at the age of 21 months. Rebecca had a rare brain condition called lisencephally. The charity aims to support local families who have children with additional needs or life limiting illnesses. They provide adapted equipment such as bikes, car seats, chairs and sensory equipment and toys. The charity also provides respite breaks for families in one of their 3 Haven caravans and provides sibling events for many children.

The charity is ran completely by volunteers and as such there are no running costs so every penny pledged and raised goes directly to the children and their families.

Registered Charity Number: 1141197.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
