Hove Soiree’s story

STOP.!! Before you donate, the pre - booking process has now ended, so we cannot guarantee to pick up your tree. Feel free to make a donation to our good causes, and read more below.

Our annual Christmas Tree Recycling is a house-to-house collection of trees based only in West Hove, not Brighton, so please see our website - http://bit.ly/HSRXmas - to check if your street is listed. If your road is not listed, you are outside our area, so please do not donate without checking with us first by emailing [email protected] as we have limited numbers of volunteers & vans. Remember that if you do not fill in the form on our main website, we will not have your address, and will not know to collect your tree.

Please indicate if you are a UK tax payer, so we can claim back the tax on your donation, this does not cost you anything but allows us to claim an extra 25% as gift aid.  All money raised will help Rotary supported charities & local projects during 2020. For more information about the charities that we support, see our settlement page, or click here to visit our website.

We already have over £1500 in sponsorship from some of our wonderful supporters, including our main sponsor Mishon Mackay, who have donated £750, as well as Adams & Remers Solicitors, Best Practice Chiropractic, MW Solictors, Pepper Fox, SEI Group, Wilson Sandford and Handelsbanken who have each donated £200. Mayberry Garden Centre and Jackson Waste are both kindly providing a van and driver to help on the day of the collection.

The trees are collected for a small donation and taken for recycling into soil improver or compost and not sent to landfill. There is a lovely video on YouTube from the most recent collection In January 2019 from one of our volunteers, famous blogger Niomi Smart, and lots of pictures on our Facebook page . Thank you :)

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
