Kate ’s story

I have always loved a challenge and the A2A will be the hardest by far.

Over the years I have done many marathon swims including a solo English Channel swim , walked across the Moroccan and Peruvian deserts, cycled the Rocky Mountains.

The A2A involves getting to Dover on my feet (86 miles) , swimming across the channel (21 plus miles) and then cycling (181 miles ) to Paris.

I hope to do this between 4th -13th September 2019.

I would like to raise some money to support osprey so the centre can make improvements and create a community sport centre for all to enjoy.

I work there as a specialist exercise instructor looking after predominantly cardiac patients and people wanting to be more active. We run classes to suit all at the centre.

I also coach swimming to a wide range of swimmers , from beginners to future channel swimmers.

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

Technology is nothing. What's important is that you have a faith in people, that they're basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they'll do #wonderful things with them. – Steve Jobs

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
