Team FOWP’s story

On Saturday 14 July 2018, children, parents, teachers, friends and family of Wendell Park School will be running, walking, jogging and skipping along the 5KM of the Wormwood Scrubs Park Run course.

Our fundraising objective this year's Annual Fun Run is to raise £3,000 towards the £10,000 annual Friends target to support the school’s recently launched ARTS4ALL programme. Arts4All aims to enhance the range of activities and learning opportunities in the school in the form of:

Visual arts workshops, photography;

Drama, dance, poetry slam;

Productions, presentations, publications;

Musical instrument learning, bands, choirs, performances;

Trips to theatres, galleries, museums plus lots more…

Please support our final Friends of Wendell Park fundraising activity of the school year by sponsoring our keen runners or even joining us for the fun run - all are welcome!

Finally, don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box if you are UK taxpayer so that Friends can reclaim an additional 25p on every £1 donated (at no extra cost to yourself).

Thank you so much for your support from all of us at Friends of Wendell Park!

Friends of Wendell Park

The Friends of Wendell Park is the Wendell Park Primary School parent-teacher association (PTA) - a group of parents, carers and school staff who give their time voluntarily to raise money to support the school and organise events for pupils and all those connected with the school.

During the year we run various events and activities including:

  • Winter and Summer School Fairs
  • W Factor Talent Competition
  • Wendell Park Football Tournament
  • Annual 5K Fun Run
  • Quiz Night

We have successfully raised money over the years make the children's "Dream Playground" a reality and to refurbish the school's library. This year we are focused on supporting the school's Arts4All initiative which aims to provide opportunities to support and enhance the range of activities and learning opportunities for children in the area of Visual and Performing arts.

Registered Charity Number: 1109928.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
