I am raising money for Newlife who fund Specialist equipment for disabled children which is not normally funded by the NHS or Social care.
The challenge will be the hardest thing I have ever done or most likely to do in my lifetime, the concept is simple, pick a hill or mountain anywhere in the world and ride up and down on a bike as many times as it takes to ascend the altitude of Mount Everest, which is 8,848 metres or 29,029 feet! There is no time limit and the rules allow for breaks but no sleep, I will aim to start the challenge at 11pm on the 28th June and complete around 6pm on the 29th June, however this is dependent on the weather conditions, if the conditions are not perfect I will be forced to postpone the challenge until the following weekend.
I am not a professional cyclist and never have been, I would simply describe myself as a 52 year old weekend warrior who enjoys cycling and a challenge!
The challenge is enormous, I have therefore set a high target to reflect this challenge and will be extremely grateful to anyone who can spare anything to support this charity who could not exist without donations form the general public.
Thank you in advance to anyone who supports the charity.
