Team Dave, Joe and Phil’s story

In memory of our brother and friend Adam, we are raising money for the European Association of Cancer Research (EACR).

We, Adam's brother Joe and Phil, met in Berlin where Adam lived and played in a band with Phil. In 2016 Adam was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer and he sadly passed away in October 2017 on his 37th birthday.

During one of Joe's latest visits to see Adam's beautiful wife and son, we found we both loved cycling and decided to ride 1155 km from Adam’s childhood home in Milton Keynes, UK to his home in the German capital. Our friend Dave will join us for this challenge and, with your help, we hope to raise lots of money for the cancer research charity.

The ride is also in tribute to our loved ones who have recently succumbed to the disease, and to those who survived it. It is unfortunately something many of us have experienced.

We chose the European Association of Cancer Research as we want to support research collaborations across borders to fight cancer.

This trip will take place between July 20th and 28th. You can follow our shenanigans here:

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
