Gunnersbury PTA’s story

The Gunnersbury Catholic Secondary School is a science specialist estate school in London teaching a broad spectrum of children, from all abilities and background. Gunnersbury is one of the top estate schools in the country, and has demonstrated strong success across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Math) subjects.

Over the years an increasing number students (secondary boys and sixth-form girls) are interested in pursuing math, further math and other similar subjects... streaching the school's capacity.

the school is eager to expand its teaching capacity so they can meet the growing STEM demand. The project will involve infrastructure, technology and teaching resources, covered from a variety of funding sources to make it happen.

Our parent-teacher association would like to contribute to this exciting project, just like we did with the refurbishment of the library last year.

We are grateful for any donation you can give towards this wonderful project, however small. Every little helps. Thanks so much.

The Gunnersbury Association

The Gunnersbury Association (GA) is the community and PTFA for all families and friends of Gunnersbury Catholic School.  The GA's purpose is to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, building the sense of community and (we hope) having a good time while raising funds to support our children's education.

The Association helps the school and our students at various functions like the School Production, Summer BBQ, Speech Night and Quiz Night, combining also activities to raise much needed funds. We also support the school with hand-on projects that help our children in professional development or other areas.

We have three main areas of focus: Create Stronger Connections, Provide Hands-on support (Professional Development) and Raise More Funds (easy giving, corporates, grants, etc). Our current fundraising is focussed on refurbishing and modernising the school library.

Registered Charity Number: 1083185.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
