Shaleen’s story

Inspired by my sister after seeing her take part in parkruns after the tragic death of her husband last year, I decided to give it a go as a self help tool for improving my mental health. In September 2018, I joined Earlswood Running Club's Couch to 5K course and enjoyed it tremendously, so much so that I completed the course 3 times! One year on, armed with newfound confidence and an improvement in my mental health, I want to raise support for those who are in need physically, mentally and emotionally. A 10K run may not seem a great achievement to many but to me it will go down as one of my prouder moments in life for more reasons than I have space to explain on this page. Im not asking you to support me but rather to see it as supporting those who society tend to (and sometimes prefer to) forget. Thank you to all my Earlswood Running Club family for making this 10K run possible but HUGE thanks to the most incredibly inspiring leader and training coach Kate Holah, founder of Earlswood Running Club!

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

Renewed Hope Trust

Thank you for thinking about giving your financial support to Renewed Hope Trust!

RHT is a charity which exists to provide practical support to the homeless and disadvantaged of East Surrey. This includes serving meals, offering shelter, clothing and assistance in finding employment as well as encouraging them to build relationships, listen and care for each other. We do this through the work of the East Surrey Winter Night Shelter, year-round Drop-In service and Sunday lunch. In an atmosphere of compassion and love, we seek to offer acceptance and respect to all.

Registered Charity Number: 1161502.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
