I’m so excited to be heading out to Kenya again with The Red Rubber Ball Foundation. Our focus this year is the Cycling Club in the Kibera slums, which I was privileged to visit last year. I saw first hand what an incredible impact the club had on those lucky enough to attend. We had great fun helping with cycling proficiency tests and it was an emotional sight seeing them kitted out in cycling gear we had sent out earlier in the year. I’ll be taking more kit out this year, which has been so generously donated.
We’re spending some precious time with the children in the club then jumping on a mountain bike and cycling 350km in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Mountain biking in 25-30 degrees should be quite a challenge!
This ride is to help raise funds for the creation of a second cycle club in a school in the Kibera slums and to build on the success of the first club.
I am paying all my own costs, so every penny of the money raised via this page will all go to the Foundation. If you can gift aid it also, then that adds another 25% to what you give. The Wonderful donation site I'm using is great because it's a non-profit organisation itself and doesn't charge any service or processing fees.
