Sam’s story

My name is Sam Boatwright - at least it is for most of the time! I've undertaken a few feats of endurance that have seen me dubbed by the press and an incredibly loyal army of supporters as 'the Epic runner'. And I am back to undertake another epic adventure in 2019. I am a full-time teacher at a secondary school in Bradford. Every mile I have ever covered from the start has been to prove to people – most importantly the kids I teach - that with focus, resolve and spades of courage, absolutely anything is possible.

On 22 July 2019, my Epic Triathlon will start. I am now officially in training to swim the Channel, cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats and then running back to Land's End From John O’Groats. It's a huge challenge, not least because as if the feat itself isn't enough, I have my eye on setting world records for the all three.

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
