Karen’s story

In a bid to get out of “crimbo limbo” between Christmas and New Year and whilst I could still get off the sofa, I gathered up all the naughty food that was still temptingly around and decided to donate it to Renewed Hope Trust. The lady who took my donation was so thrilled, she made me feel so good about myself so I decided to do more to help this local charity. I started to collect food to donate for the next couple of months but then realised that whilst they were pleased to receive bits and pieces what they really needed was funds. This got me thinking 🤔 what could I do that would help raise money for them and give me that same good feeling? I mentioned this at work and with the help of my lovely colleagues we found the Southcoast Ultra challenge - 55 kilometres from Eastbourne to Hove over the Seven Sisters. Have I mentioned I am not very fit and whilst I like walking I am not very good at hills 😱 Or that the most common question I have been asked about this is “Do you know how far that is?”. I am under no illusion that this is defiantly going to be both a physical and mental endurance challenge and I would love for you to help me on my journey by sponsoring me to raise at least £300 - it will make a difference to so many who need it and to me.

Thank you so much for your support 🥰

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
