Dionysus’s story

Piano Association of Solomon Islands (PASI), the music organisation on The Solomon Islands, enables children to learn various instruments, not simply the piano.

These children receive tuition only once or twice a year and have to manage alone apart from that.

This project would provide expert instrumental teaching for the children currently studying as part of PASI, and culminate in a showcase concert at the end of the project where they would perform along side internationally experienced professional players.

We would also work with local teachers and parents to share our teaching expertise so that they would have a wider range of techniques and resources available to encourage and enthuse the children going forward.

By giving the adults a greater repertoire of practice techniques and study materials to draw on, there would be longevity for the children after the project as they would get more experienced help in between lessons.

This project could bring such an exciting and invaluable range of experiences and opportunities to all involved in PASI which would really spur them on, as well as hopefully working to put in place the beginnings of more regular and structured music tuition.

All sponsors will get a report on the project including photos, audio clips of the showcase concert and progress reports on the students so that you can see the joy that your contribution has brought.

If you would like to be a corporate sponsor, then please do get in touch to discuss how we could best promote you in return - your logo on our T Shirts, Twitter, weblinks on our site etc.

The Dionysus Ensemble is the Ensemble in Residence for The Commonwealth Resounds, one of only two accredited music organisations within the Commonwealth.

We are a virtuosic chamber ensemble with a string quartet at its core, equally at home on the concert platform, playing for events in both formal and informal settings, as well as providing music education projects. We provide a range of musical performances from solo cello right through to chamber orchestra, and our team have a wealth of expertise and international musical reputations.

The Commonwealth Resounds

The Commonwealth Resounds! Connecting musical cultures since 2005.

We promote music and musicians across the Commonwealth through collaborative events worldwide with a particular focus on young people and the developing world. Thousands of our musicians have been involved in our life-changing projects and gala performances.

We have a professional Ensemble In Residence, The Dionysus Ensemble, who are involved in projects spreading music education throughout Commonwealth countries who have very little access to formal and expert training.

Registered Charity Number: 1160119.

Our wonderful partners

Our wonderful partners - who support us with cash and services - make it possible for us to pass EVERY PENNY raised from your fundraising efforts and generous donations to our charities, including Gift Aid. Of course, we would be unable to do so without them.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
