The Coles Family’s story
Noah and Eliya's amazing school (The King's School!) is raising money to build a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) sports pitch. Our current field gets too muddy to use in the autumn or winter, meaning we need to hire sports facilities elsewhere, which costs a lot and takes time out of lessons for transport. Now the school has the opportunity to build a MUGA pitch and we're all taking on the challenge of together reaching a massive £100,000 target!
As a family, we have decided to take on the challenge of living on £1 per person per day for food from 23rd-29th May (that's a really small budget to cover breakfast, lunch and dinner - lunchboxes might look interesting!). We will donate all the money we would usually spend on our weekly food shop, and are asking family and friends to consider donating as well - we are so grateful for anything you can give, and if you can Gift Aid it then it will add even more to your donation.
As well as raising money, it will be a good opportunity to think about food spending and come up with creative ways to work within a tight budget. PLUS, we are imagining that a week of spaghetti hoops will make us even more grateful for fresh fruit and vegetables.
For anyone who is interested, we will post about how we get on and share any recipes or useful tips that we come up with!
