Get moving in May to support our Coronavirus Appeal

Mhairi Sharp, CEO of The National Emergencies Trust - “We’re inviting #WonderfulWarriors to walk, cycle, run, dance or skate a mile a day through May – equivalent to conquering the highest peaks in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales in one month. By getting moving, you can help to move mountains for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Raising funds for the National Emergencies Trust’s Coronavirus Appeal will help charities and groups across the four nations to keep stepping up for those in need in their communities. From food banks to mental health services, let’s make May miles better for everyone!”

This May, to celebrate the relaunch of the Wonderful Organisation and the return of summer, we're kicking fundraising back into action.

We're inviting fundraisers across the country to make the most of longer days and sunnier skies to help meet one ambitious target: 100,000 miles in 31 days.

"We all need something to pep us up a little after long, gloomy lockdowns. This is the perfect opportunity to be part of something bigger and better, and the extra little spark some of us need to get the trainers on and the steps in." - Kieron James, Wonderful.org.

Together, fundraisers will take around 200 million steps in our national challenge to raise £100,000 for charities like Amnesty International UK, Cancer Research UK and the National Emergencies Trust. Best of all, our completely fee-free model means that every single penny will be passed directly into charities' bank accounts.

Throughout May, our #WonderfulWarriors walking, jogging and flat-out sprinting for causes they care about - though others may prefer to clock their miles in the saddle (cycle, horse, camel) or trunks (elephant, Speedos). Anything goes!

And don't worry, there's no need to count each step or map every route as we've integrated with Strava! You can use the free Strava smartphone app to record every jaunt, ramble, swim or skate - each activity will automatically be posted to your fundraising page. And for those who prefer to record their distance manually, it's easy to post quick distance updates.
