Plymouth College’s story
We are seeking support to renovate and refurbish our pavilion at Delgany. The goal is to provide state of the art changing facilities for boys and girls as well as an area to include a cafeteria for post-match teas and socialising. There will be internal seating and an external patio area to accommodate parents and visiting guests. The plan would be for the new pavilion to form the centrepiece at Delgany.
Our intention is to rename the facility the Collinson Pavilion in honour of an outstanding former teacher of the College, Dennis Collinson, who taught at the school from 1953-1978. We feel this project will be a fitting tribute to his dedicated service to the College over many years.
A former pupil, remembering Dennis, commented; 'Dennis did more than helping me and others succeed academically. He helped us form a tolerant and liberal world view that valued academic study, debate, tolerance of other ways of life and a strong sense of how the past influences the present. I believe those values are in short supply today and would like to help us all remember their importance by honouring Dennis’s memory.'
