Friends of Nassington School (FONS)

Nassington Primary School is a local village primary school, which relies heavily upon fundraising to support the educational provision and experience of the school children.The Friends of Nassington School (FONS) Charity support the school in fundraising, arranging events and activities to enhance the children's school experience.The Charity runs with the help and dedication of volunteer parents, carers and villagers, which has been in place for at least the last 10 years.Throughout the school year, the FONS run activities and events such as the Christmas Gift Wrap, Halloween Bake Sale, Easter Hunt and May Fayre along with some smaller events such Cinema nights and Disco’s. These events bring great joy to the children and the attendance and support is always high. They also allow us to raise small amounts of money that help support the school beyond the government funding.Annually, FONS commits to pay for the following services and items for the school; Coaches and School Transport, Classroom Funds, Winter Pantomime, Reading Books & Music CD’s. This funding is required on top of the regular government funding/allocation to the school.We are incredibly mindful of the financial pressures families are currently facing. The financial burden of school trips and activities is just too much for some, and as FONS we try to support all families by minimising the cost as much as possible.
