Friends of Ditcheat School (FoDS) is our school association consisting of parents, staff and friends from the local community. FoDS works very closely with the school to enrich the children’s experiences by further developing the facilities, equipment and overall environment at the School.
We fund visits within the local area and further afield; pay for visitors to come into school to perform or work with the children; buy equipment for learning and play, and organise and supporting a number of social occasions throughout the year, such as the Christmas lunch, leavers parties, discos, bingo and seasonal fayres.
In addition, we try to focus our fundraising on one or two BIG PROJECTS that really make a difference for the future.
Right now, we are aiming to fund the renovation of their toilets and washrooms. Over the years since the toilet facilities were installed, the toilets, sinks and dryers have deteriorated, some no longer work some leak and breakdown regularly. In addition, the uric acid has penetrated the flooring so unfortunately no amount of cleaning has much impact on the smell.
