Formed in 1997, CAPITAL Project Trust has been at the forefront of mental health peer support across West Sussex for almost thirty years. Founded to support people with lived experience of mental health distress, at a time when people had no voice; since that time, CAPITAL has been delivering peer support to those in need, including weekly local support meetings, regular social events (including walks, visits to plays and galleries), arts and crafts sessions, and mental health advisory services to other charities and organisations.
Additionally, CAPITAL provides peer support to inpatients in three mental health hospitals across the county, where patients can range in age and severity of illness. Our peer support team offer regular drop in support, which can include nail painting, singing, book swaps, arts and crafts, gardening, and general chit chat.
CAPITAL is a peer-led organisation where every member of the team from trustees to volunteers have first-hand experience of mental health challenges and is involved in shaping its activities and direction.

How wonderful that we have met with a paradox. Now we have some hope of making progress.Niels Bohr
