Voluntary Action Epping Forest

Voluntary Action Epping Forest is an independent charity known as a council for voluntary services or CVS. We have been supporting not for profit organisations in Epping Forest for more than twenty eight years. Our core work is aimed at helping local charities and community groups to achieve their full potential. Services offered help to improve peoples quality of life and health & wellbeing.

VAEF runs a number of projects in the Epping Forest district and surrounding areas. A brief description of each project is shown below.

Befriending - Providing support and friendship to older people living on their own or in isolation 

Handyman - Providing a Handyman service to Epping Forest Council Tenants who are over 60 or disabled 

Volunteer Centres - Providing organisations with volunteers in Epping Forest and Harlow

Supported Volunteering - Providing a helping hand for people experiencing mental health issues to have a safe and successful volunteering/employment journey.

Ace Activities - Day Activities for People with Learning Disabilities 

Gardening - Providing gardeners and volunteers to maintain the gardens of people who cannot do so themselves free of charge 

Homesafety - This is a chargeable service providing a Handy Person to complete odd jobs in your home at reasonable and competitive rates.

Benefits - Providing benefit advice to housebound residents in Epping Forest

Community Services Hub - Set up during the covid-19 pandemic to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ of voluntary services support for people, most impacted by public health restrictions and personal circumstances. Delivering short term programmes, consultations and activities in the Epping Forest community which aim to improve public health and wellbeing in key, identified areas.

Digital Learners - Helping seniors and those living with a disability in west Essex with their computers, tablets and smartphones.

My Weight Matters Programme - Free Weight loss service

Winter Warmth Campaign - delivering assistance to agency referred residents in the Epping Forest District in support of Essex County Councils Winter Warmth Campaign.
