Gaddesden Place is a dedicated Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Centre giving over 100 children and adults with special needs and disabilities the opportunity to ride and have fun.
We know that we are offering an important activity and service for our riders: riding with the RDA develops and strengthens riders muscle tone, improves balance, co-ordination and the unique relationship formed with the horse can lead to increased confidence, independence and self-esteem.
The activity has significant benefits for riders with a broad range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, autism, muscular dystrophy, and sight/hearing impairments; all who benefit in different ways from the therapy provided by our special horses.
As a self-funding charity, we are only able to carry out our special activities thanks to the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers and the good nature of our fantastic horses.
