We help people towards meaningful and sustainable employment after a conviction. Coming out of prison can be an overwhelming experience. Everything is different. Trying to slot back into society is doubly hard when so many employers simply dismiss a CV when they see that someone has a conviction. Government figures bear out that being unemployed is a huge factor in people reoffending, yet at 6 months post-release, 69% of people are still unemployed. The frustrations and continual setbacks can appear insurmountable to many, leaving them hopeless and in despair. Clean Sheet provides one-to-one support to people who have a conviction, in their quest to find sustainable employment. This is what some of our Members (people with a conviction) say about us: “I honestly didn’t think I’d ever work again. Then I was put in contact with Clean Sheet. I cannot say a more positive thing about my Employment Team Adviser: he simplified things, took the time to support me as I took things step by step and helped me no end – he was fantastic." (Rob) "People just seemed to lose interest once they saw I had a conviction. I got really down and just didn’t see the point, however, once I became a Clean Sheet Member, I had access to their Employers Directory, which is an amazing resource… Being back in work has most definitely improved my health and mental health.” (Matt) “Having someone that is there to support and offer real world advice means so much to people in my position, it lets us make an informed decision to progress or move forward.” (Frank) £33 enables us to provide support for a month to someone trying to find employment after a conviction.
