We are a UK registered Charity delivering educational projects to communities in Kenya. We are working in partnership with the rural Maasai community of Esilalei in Kajiado County, Kenya, on exciting projects to improve the lives of the community. These projects include:The construction of the community hall, which will be the base for our projects and wider community activities.Naretisho Girls' Project provides menstrual education, mentoring and support to girls and young women, enabling them to continue their education. The initial group members selected the name "Naretisho", which means "reaching out to help" as they wish to be empowered to help other girls in their community.Sponsorship Programme supporting vulnerable children through primary and secondary education.Community Education Programme to improve the literacy level in the local area. The literacy level in the community is just 40% compared with 81% across Kenya and 99% in the UK. This important project will enable the local adult population (many of whom have never been to school) to be able to read and write in their Maasai language as well as in English and Swahili. The classes currently run twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays for 2 hours each day.
