Spreading the Happiness

Spreading the Happiness is a registered Charity founded in 2018. The charity was set up by Shonette Bason and her Mum Patricia Gibb, who had previously been Teacher/Headteacher in an area of high deprivation in the North East of England. Whilst working they realised that many families during the school holidays struggled to feed their children once schools were closed and they were not able to access breakfast club and free school meals. This is now called ‘Holiday Hunger’. The charity has moved into a new venture of providing Holiday Beach Camps (run by Shonette and her team) for children from deprived areas to attend through funding from the Charity. The days run from 8 - 5 and are based at Seaton Carew Beach Huts. The children are given 3 meals a day, and spend their day on the beach having adventures and fun experiences. This venture not only ensures children are fed in the holidays but also gives them experiences parent's could not afford.
