Andi's Gift is a charity that focuses on making memories, for adults & their families who need to use an adult hospice, or have a palliative condition. Andi's Gift was inspired by Andrea White; who spent several months cared for by Community Hospice (Greenwich & Bexley) 2014. Andi celebrated her 40th birthday, with an owl experience in the hospice garden. Realising another hospice patient loved owls, Andi instinctively shared her birthday gift. The memories created that day shifted everyone's focus from challenges, to fully living in the moment, lifting everyone's spirits and bringing people together, to create lasting memories. What came next Andi inspired, it is her legacy.Over the years Andi's Gift has supported various memory making activities at Community Hospice & for other adult families affected by palliative Illness: visits from musicians, therapy pony's, alpacas, dogs, rabbits, chickens, exotic animals; family trips out; creative craft, magician sessions & memory jewellery . One of the highlights of 2024 was supporting the talented musicians Joe Cavalli-Price & Mared Pugh Evan's from “Music in hospices”; enabling them to perform on five occasions, across the year at the hospice. A relative shared that their Mother loved & was surprised to see alpaca's up close at the hospice & was very joyful to participate in two of her favourite songs, performed by Joe and Mared, several days before she died. He said his Mum was so filled by joy from the visits, that he included those stories in her eulogy. Very moving and thoughtful of the family to share.Hospice staff & volunteers have also commented, that they also benefit, as they go about their caring and supportive work. What's next? During covid, Andi's Gift used virtual reality, to achieve a memory making activity for a family & this is something we would like to explore further along with continuing the current activities & being open to new memory making ideas. Andi's Gift would like to thank you for your kind support and donation.

How wonderful that we have met with a paradox. Now we have some hope of making progress.Niels Bohr
