Providing a service that empowers, builds self-esteem, and develops the talking and coping skills of adults and young people. We support male and female survivors of physical, sexual, mental, emotional and financial abuse regardless of age, race, culture, sexuality, we aim to improve their mental health and build healthy pathways for the future, for them and their families. We have everything we need within ourselves to make the changes required to improve our lives, talking therapies enable us to discover this.Clean Slate is currently receiving high levels of referrals due to NHS waiting lists. Mental health becomes worse if clients are unable to access the prompt support needed. We need your help to respond to this increasing need. The charity has been running for 13 years, with the aim of providing a service that empowers, builds self-esteem, and develops the talking and coping skills of adults and young people, who have experienced sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Clean Slate offer counselling sessions, emotional support sessions, online educational sessions, and group support work to help clients overcome past traumatic experiences. After 13 years of providing free to access support, it is with regret that we now find ourselves having to levy a charge for our services. This is due to lack of any statutory funding and a severe shortfall in other grants and funding/fundraising opportunities.Due to the cost-of-living crisis many clients are also struggling to pay for their treatment, which means many individuals are suffering in silence. This fund will be used to support vulnerable individuals, who aren't able to contribute towards treatment. Clean Slate want to make sure they can offer an inclusive service to all individuals, from many diverse backgrounds.Anything that is received, however small, will be greatly appreciated.
