The Church of All Saints (aptly named) provides a sanctuary for all in need and who reach out for help and support. The church grounds provide a peaceful environment and inside the church, generations of love, prayer, care and commitment to God and the community, provide a tangible source of peace and a welcome space for reflection. The beautiful little church dates from 1886. The land and church were a gift from the 8th Duke of Argyll to his wife Amelia Maria, who was the daughter of Dr Claughton, Bishop of St Albans. Subsequently, the 10th Duke, Niall, loved this church with all his heart and donated much of its furniture that can be enjoyed today. The church is the responsibility of the Trustees of the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles, but depends almost entirely on public donations for it's maintenance and upkeep. These donations enable the church to be opened to the public and the thousands of tourists who visit Inveraray every year. They also enable the grounds to be developed to further provide for the community and the genera public. Adjoining the church is a stunning bell tower housing the second heaviest collection of bells in the world! Duke Niall had this tower built to commemorate the lives of those Campbells who died in all wars, and indeed all the lives that were lost on both sides. HIs compassion is a reflection of God's love for us all.
