Our aim is to support people with sight impairment and resident in North East Fife by offering a monthly programme of social activities. These include visits to places of interest, theatre visits, museums and outdoor activities. We are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and Royal Voluntary Service drivers, who provide transport and guiding. Feedback from members indicates that getting out and about to participate in new activities is vital for social interaction and peer group support. We have a management committee consisting of nine Trustees and one co-opted member, the majority of who are themselves sight impaired. BASE depends entirely on fundraising support from donations and funding applications to various charitable trusts.
