Shaunagh’s story

About the Charity:
Ty Olwen staff tirelessly tend to people with life limiting diseases and provide end of life care.
The cancer hospice is NHS funded, however, we’re aware of how thinly stretched this service is therefore Ty Olwen relies on donations to make it the special place it is.
The Why:
I run the race in memory of my Mother, who bravely spent several months at the hospice, receiving quality care from the staff whilst keeping them laughing.
The hospice provides a warm, safe and comforting place alongside delivering the level of specialist care needed for our loved ones. Ty Olwen is a second home for most, and making that place the best it can be is vital to the patients, families and staff who spend each day there. A scenario that an increasing number of families are becoming familiar with. I wish to give back to those families and patients in the same need.
Donations:
No sum of money is too small. Collectively we’ll make the difference.
I’ll be very grateful for anything you can contribute towards achieving my target.
The Fundraiser:
The London Marathon Ballot selected my entry, may just be beginners luck.. So, I’ll be proudly running in the Marathon on the 23rd April 2023 completing 26.2 miles. I’m following an intense 15 week training plan to get me up to scratch; running, strengthening and cross-training taking me up to the race day.
