Alex’s story

Hi. I am Alex, assistant director for Villiers Park, in Tyneside and Hastings & Bexhill. I have been part of the charity for 12 years and couldn't ask for a better role, working with the young people and schools in the two hubs and across the country.I have, with great regret, announced publicly that I will run 100 miles (or possibly kilometres if it gets too hard) and now have to fulfill that promise. Please make my impending doom worthwhile, plus I will share photos on Twitter (Now called X) of any amusing pained expressions to keep up the interest@AlexGrant_HB

Hi All

Bad news, I am afraid. Unfortunately, my achilles was causing me a lot of pain during the last run and I will need to pause for a little bit. I intend to keep covering some miles, but in the 9 days left, I feel 100 miles might now be too much!

Hi Everyone

My right achilles and calf are really struggling currently so down to walking. Last night was a little breezy, but the sight of the De La Warr Pavilion is just stunning as it is illuminated in the night time!!

Hi All

I would love to say that I am enjoying the challenge immensely, but that would be a lie. It is, however, a really important cause for me and so I am determined to keep going.

40.2 miles down - ignore the averages. 1 October was the first time I had run in 3 years so it is counting 4 weeks back where I was doing nothing!!

Villiers Park 1000km Challenge

There are almost 1000km across our hubs in Hastings and Bexhill, Norfolk, Tyneside and Swindon. We want to challenge Villiers Park staff, supporters, Future Leaders, and friends to cover these km in this activity challenge! You can walk, run, cycle, swim, hop, skip or jump as many km as you can, which will go towards the ultimate 1000km target. You have the whole of October to complete the challenge. You can do this from at home, at the gym, or track your course across the great outdoors. Challenge yourself wherever is convenient for you. You can sign up to as many or as few km as you would like. This event is meant to be accessible for all, whilst still being a challenge.

By coming together for this big event to celebrate the work we do, we hope to unite our supporters and current students, celebrate our incredible year of progress, and enable a new audience to support us too.
