What is the St. George’s sponsored colour run?
The St. George’s colour run is a sponsored event being held for the second time by the Friends to raise funds to go towards replacement iPads for the students. We are inviting everybody, including those that do not attend St. George’s to take part in running 1km (Reception – Yr3) or 2km (Yr4+) and raise sponsorship through family and friends to complete the event. Whilst running around the course there will be stations that are marshalled, the marshals will throw colour powder as the runners whizz by!
When is the colour run?
The colour run will be held on Saturday 18 May on the school field where Sports Day takes place. The event will start from 2pm. There will be a fun and lively warm up held for each group to get the children ready and excited.
How far is the course and do I need to run?
The course varies in length depending on age. Children in Reception, year 1, year 2, and year 3 as well as non-school aged children will be able to participate in a 1km run. Year 4+ children will be able to participate in a 2km. You can run, skip, hop, dance or walk the distance, the main aim is for the children to have fun!
