Tim’s story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our ‘Wonderful’ page. We have entered the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run for 2025 in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
The Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run is a fantastic event, but it's gruelling and tiring, but also great fun. The idea behind the event being to drive 2000 miles continually from Knebworth to John O'Groats to Land's End to Knebworth, Hertfordshire.
Tim and Darren will be using Tim’s Triumph 2.5Pi mk1, a car that he has owned since 2004. This will be Darren's third RBRR and he is looking forward to it.
The 2025 RBRR will be the 29th in the series that started in 1966, it was then run in 1969, 1971, and 1974, then being run every two years. 1973 was missed owing to the fuel crisis of that year and then with the covid pandemic the event could not run in 2020. It is considered to be one of the longest standing one make car events held in the world and has earned plaudits throughout the old car motoring world. The youngest cars taking part are now 40 years old and the oldest, well some are over 70 years old.
Since 1990 the event has had a charitable basis and has raised over £880,000.00 for various UK charities, last time in 2023 the event raised over £80,000.00 for the Huntingdon’s Disease Association. For this year, Club Triumph want to raise a sum of over £110,000 and push the grand total of raising to over £1,000.000!
Please support Parkinson's UK by making a pledge using ‘Wonderful’. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate, saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Its a weird event, to drive 2000 miles in 48 hours does not seem that much fun, but its the camaraderie amongst the teams, the cars (and what cars they are), the roads, the scenery and pure sense of achievement on completion that makes the event so addictive and appealing.
Wish us luck and thanks for the donation!
