La Fosse’s story
FOMOE – Friends of Mangochi Orphans Education – is a UK-based charity that raises funds to advance the education and welfare of orphaned and vulnerable children attending MOET School in Mangochi in Malawi, Africa.MOET (Mangochi Orphans Education & Training) School was established in 1999 with 10 orphaned children taught under a grass shelter. With a grant from the Humanitarian Relief Fund, MOET School was able to construct its first building and, thanks to continued donations, they now support over 300 children and have 8 classrooms, a nursery, and a library.La Fosse has supported FOMOE as a charity partner for several years. In May of this year, a group of La Fosse volunteers will be heading to Malawi to help in classrooms, school clubs, and sports sessions, learning more about the school and the hundreds of children whose lives have been transformed by their work.As MOET School is entirely dependent on donations and goodwill, the La Fosse team (Karina, Emilie, Enya, Micaela, Amy, Olivia, Emile, and Josh) are raising funds to help secure the future of the school on a day-to-day basis and, in turn, secure happy and healthy futures for its students.Aiming to raise £500 each, the team’s fundraising efforts and upcoming activities include hosting a Burns Night, doing a swimathon, cycling from Birmingham to London, a bake sale, and a raffle. Any donations to help the team hit their fundraising target for this great cause would be greatly appreciated.
