Lee’s story

On the night of Friday 3rd December, I took part in Threshold's Big Swindon Sleepout 2021 to raise funds for a wonderful charitable organisation which for nearly five decades has been supporting people who have found themselves homeless and on the streets of our town. This was the third time I have joined the sleepout - in the past I have done so when I was a Patron - but this was the toughest yet. Not only am I several years older, the conditions were quiote a bit more challenging, and I was also endeavouring to raise as much as possible to help Threshold meet their ambitious overall target of £50,000.
My hope is that at least 100 people will be able and willing to give £10 and bring that target down by £1000. My friends and colleagues in our Diocesan Support Services are looking to raise funds through Advent which will help transform the experience of being homeless in Swindon and make a big difference to the work being done here to assist them. Perhaps, like me, you have friends, work colleagues or relatives who would be only too happy to support this work as well. Maybe you could offer this opportunity by sending them a link to this page? Using Wonderful.org as the platform to raise funds means that all donations go to the charity with no deductions taken to maintain the service Wonderful.org offer. Making a donation is a little more time-consuming but it is certainly worth it for the reward.
With thanks for reading this and any amount you may feel able to give.
