Anna’s story
So as Hastings has been cancelled, I have entered the Kent Spring Half instead - Sunday 13th April. Gutted to not be doing Hastings, but I’ll be there in October instead!!
I decided it would be good to challenge myself with a “hillier” half marathon after I did Paddock Wood, so I signed up for Hastings on March 23rd. One way to make sure I don’t back out is to use it to raise some money for a charity.
I have chosen Rother Resonders, they are an amazing group of local volunteers who are trained by the South East Coast Ambulance Service. Their role is to provide emergency medical care and life support in those critical few minutes before the ambulance crew arrives and can take over.
They also provide and maintain public access defibrillators and teach the public CPR.
Some of you will know that dad suffered an out of hospital cardiac arrest last November but thanks to CPR and the amazing team of paramedics and cardiac staff at the Conquest hospital he has made a full recovery- not bad for an 81 year old! And just shows that speed of response really makes a difference.
Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated 😂😂
